EAP Counselor  – Part Time, Benefit Eligible

The EAP Counselor responds to client calls on Empathia’s 24-hour access line, provides telephone assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, resource finding, referral services, behavioral care treatment authorization services and data entry.

Hours: Monday – Friday; starting between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm; 2-6 hr shifts/week and 2-7 hr shifts/week

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related Human Services field. Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related Human Services field strongly preferred.
  • At least one year work experience in one or more of the following; psychiatric services, alcohol and drug abuse treatment facility, residential treatment, telephone counseling, or related human services/counseling areas.
  • Prior experience working in an EAP setting preferred.
  • LCSW or other State License in the mental health field preferred.
  • Certified Employee Assistance Counselor (CEAP) preferred.
  • Possess crisis intervention problem solving skills; ability to define and assess crisis and put into effect treatment options.
  • Possess active listening skills.
  • Have basic computer, clinical writing, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
