The link between employee performance and leadership behaviors is well established. An employee's relationship with her or his direct supervisor strongly informs job satisfaction, engagement and productivity. And the primary attribute underpinning a leader's ability to optimize this relationship is Emotional Intelligence, or EI.

Our Focus
Empathia's Leader Coaching programs are built on the premise that leaders with a high degree of Emotional Intelligence exercise a direct, positive and powerful impact on employee productivity and the workplace culture as a whole. There is an impressive body of research demonstrating that EI is the most critical attribute associated with what we all call "leadership."
In Emotional Intelligence 2.0, by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves, EI is defined as the ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and your relationships. This book, along with other materials, is the primary reference used in our coaching programs.
Our Philosophy
We believe that, given the opportunity, most leaders are naturally creative, adaptable and resourceful. To tap into these capabilities, our coaches utilize active listening, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, "homework" assignments, situation studies and targeted recommendations that provoke and challenge leaders to enhance and effectively apply Emotional Intelligence. In order to succeed, organizations focus on the key elements of their strategic plan. High on this list should be the development of emotionally intelligent leaders.

Our Coaches
Empathia Leader Coaches have the following minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in a human services discipline
- Five or more years experience consulting with managers and employees in a wide range of enterprises
- Intensive training in Emotional Intelligence, positive psychology, motivational interviewing and a variety of coaching methodologies
