When a disaster strikes, an organization’s response to human needs becomes critical.  Black Swan Solutions Response Services help organizations to:

  • Maintain a state of readiness that allows them to immediately respond to a disaster;
  • Provide accurate information about the incident and those affected;
  • Protect their brand and reputation in the event of a disaster;
  • Manage the massive volume of telephone inquiries that follows a disaster, often exceeding 1,000 calls per hour from employees, guests/customers, victim friends and family members, as well as the media and government officials;
  • Reduce the impact of the emotional trauma on victims and victim friends and family members; and
  • Incorporate the 9/11 commission findings and recommendations into their existing plan.

Black Swan Solutions Response Services provide organizations with the capacity to immediately and effectively respond to a disaster and provide accurate information to affected individuals and first responders.  Services include:

Disaster Response Call Center (DRCC):

  • Receives, triages and manages the massive volume of calls that flood the phone lines as a result of a disaster, often exceeding 1,000 per hour;
  • Is activated within one-hour of notification;
  • Is staffed with mental health professionals with extensive trauma experience who professionally address the highly emotional calls associated with a disaster;
  • Provides a resource for employees seeking information on returning to work, retrieving personal belongings, pay check status, etc.; and
  • Provides real time reports to the client organization of persons accounted for, missing or identified as either injured or deceased.

Employee Support:

  • Provides psychological first aid and crisis debriefing services;
  • Enhances employee resilience; and
  • Facilitates workplace recovery.

Trauma Counseling:

  • Counseling for survivors, survivor families and victim family members;
  • Available in-person and telephonically; and
  • Referrals are provided to support groups and other resources that can further assist the affected person.

Victim and Family Assistance:

  • Establishes a victim family assistance center on behalf of the affected organization;
  • Coordinates transportation for family members wishing to travel to the crisis site;
  • Facilitates communication with investigative authorities; and
  • Coordinates the recovery/return of victims’ personal effects.
