Rick joined Empathia in 2019. With 30+ years of safety and crisis management experience, he serves as Director, Crisis Management Services. He has a proven track record of cost savings and increased employee safety through his facilitation of safety and compliance initiatives. Rick has responded to several emergency and mass casualty incidents. Additionally, he holds a Masters in Aviation Science/Safety and a FEMA Professional Certification.
Director, Crisis Management Operations
Kyle joined Empathia in 2019. As Director, Crisis Management Operations for Black Swan Solutions, he provides oversight, consultation, account management, and other related responsibilities. He has provided exemplary emergency management and security practices for high-profile leaders and organizations, executing logistics, and employee training. Kyle has emergency management/preparedness experience in several industries to include: government, airline/airport, hospitality, consumer goods, financial, and many others. Additionally, he will be completing his Doctor of Emergency Management/Public Safety soon and currently maintains 11 years of meritorious military experience, in addition to international work as a security contractor.
Empathia is excited to announce the addition of Rick Hoaglund as Director of Black Swan Services and Kyle Mirehouse as Director of Crisis Management Operations.

Rick Hoaglund comes to Empathia with over 30 years of safety and crisis management experience leading emergency preparedness, crisis management, safety, business continuity and security related teams and programs. Rick has responded to several emergency and mass casualty incidents. Additionally, he holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Science, a Master Certificate in Aviation Safety and a FEMA Emergency Management Certification.
