Culture of Health
In close collaboration with our strategic partner, Edington Associates (Dee Edington and Zero Trends), Empathia provides an integrated system for successfully building a Culture of Health.
The term “Culture of Health” refers to an organizational environment that engages employees in learning and sustaining behaviors that promote physical health and emotional well-being. It incorporates custom-build initiatives that address behavioral pivot points within an organization, including physical wellness, emotional well-being, leadership behaviors, workplace culture, and self-leadership, among others.
How does it work?
- Consultation: An initial discussion with organizational stakeholders sets the stage for evaluative efforts.
- Assessment: A variety of evaluative instruments are available for generating a gap analysis. Significant behavioral and cultural pivot points are identified.
- Recommendations: The assessment process yields options for initiatives focused on creating a Culture of Health.
- Roadmap: In collaboration with organizational stakeholders, an intervention plan is developed. This plan includes methods and desired outcome metrics.
- Implementation: Agreed upon initiatives are implemented, monitored and adjusted as needed.
- Measurement: Pre-determined metrics are collected and analyzed during and at the conclusion of the Culture of Health initiative.
What will a Culture of Health do?
- Keep healthy employees well.
- Move at-risk (but still well) employees toward healthy lifestyles.
- Offer unhealthy employees avenues for improving their health status.
- Promote self-leadership around both physical wellness and emotional well-being.
- Focus the “behavioral landscape” of the workplace on encouraging positive behavior change.
- Align leadership with Culture of Health objectives and methods.
Address “hot button” issues that may be impeding progress toward achieving a Culture of Health.
